Severed Ties explores our alienation from the natural world, our amnesia of the fact that we are not separate nor above all other living organisms on this planet. We are part of the whole, but act as if we're not. It also explores our separation from one another, and the sometimes necessary act of cutting off contact with toxic people in our lives.

This assemblage was created with hand-cut vintage paper, acrylic ink, acrylic paint, and found objects. Each piece has wire or some other hardware on the back to hang on the wall.
